Magnificat is a concert-prayer for the salvation of the world’s peoples, for peace and for the brotherhood of all peoples. It is all played, sung, and spoken in three languages: Italian, English, and the Arabic dialect (Darija), the native language of the amazing singer Badrya Razem, an Italian of Algerian origins. She is entrusted with the task of “finding” the voice of Mary, singing and invoking Peace—that of the soul, but also that of all peoples. Magnificat unfolds from Pergolesi to Philip Glass, from the words of the Gospel set to music by Frisina to those written by Allen Ginsberg in 1966, during the Vietnam War, which still resonate so strongly today, all the way to Alice Coltrane’s Peace Hymn.

Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, an eighteenth-century masterpiece conceived for concert performance, is presented here in an evocative theatrical setting. Tones on the Stones offers a journey into beauty as a path to salvation, transforming meditation on pain into a visual and spiritual experience.
A prologue, set in an artist’s workshop, introduces simple men and women who, stripped of their identities, become living models of tableaux inspired by Caravaggio’s canvases: bodies, gestures, and light become transforming art.
The two female voices, suspended like baroque statues, embody the Virgin, petrified in her pain, until she too joins in the creative act of the final painting.
The soprano and mezzo-soprano, placed on two pedestals, take on the appearance of statues of the Madonna carried in procession, wearing the sumptuous baroque robes of the Virgin,
which we find in the sacred statues of the period. Around them, the mimes transform into the stage, thus recalling the iconographic path of art history: just as the Baroque painters—who certainly knew this masterpiece—were inspired by its music, so the stage actions intertwine with Pergolesi’s music.
Thanks to the sets and costumes by Danilo Coppola and the choreographic movements by Giuliano De Luca, the show constructs living, sculptural images that emerge from the canvas to convey to the audience an authentic religious feeling, where artistic contemplation becomes catharsis and revelation of the soul. The two leading voices, the soprano and the mezzo-soprano, thus become images of petrified pain that find liberation in the pathos of Pergolesi’s notes, until they recompose themselves together in the show’s final scene.

“Sospesa” is an authentic journey, defying classifications and clichés, a journey through the contrasts and nuances of the soul. “Sospesa” collects snapshots of a life, simultaneously dense and rarefied, the joyful encounter of jazz, singer-songwriter, classical, and contemporary music. Tales of a soul traveling between two worlds, unable to distinguish between dream and reality. The project features an ensemble that combines the jazz sensibility of the Spinello-Olzer duo with the expressive rigor of a string and brass ensemble.

“ZIMANÊ SÎNORAN,” meaning “Language of Borders” in Kurdish, is a musical project born from the artistic encounter between jazz singer Sonia Spinello and Kurdish multi-instrumentalist Ashti Abdo. The project is a transcultural sonic journey that breaks down geographical and linguistic barriers, celebrating the beauty of integration and diversity. The music blends Middle Eastern roots with contemporary vocal experimentation, creating a suspended, ancestral atmosphere. The ensemble is distinguished by its use of rare and traditional instruments that intertwine Eastern and Western melodies.

An incredible life told between paintbrush and sword, keeping us in suspense until the very end. Two hours of emotion, passion, and combat. Art. A story told with irrepressible force, that of a rebel who accepts no compromise, who paints the poor as saints and prostitutes as Madonnas, to reveal an uncomfortable truth: “There is more God on earth than there is in heaven.” An engaging show that exalts the painter’s artistic and spiritual legacy, revealing his struggle against darkness and his constant desire for light. In a punchy and enjoyable Progressive Rock musical style characterized by a sound design inextricably linked to the tradition of Musical Theater, with 10 performers on stage and a live rock band, the artistic revolution of Caravaggio is recounted, who challenged the Papal Rome of the 17th century by daring to reveal the Divine through the pain and suffering of the Last.

Francesca Heart & Cielofuturo
Walking Life Festival (Portogallo)
Francesca Heart presents a special collaboration with Cielofuturo, expanding the sensorial universe of her latest album, Sphinx Nouvelle (Leaving Records), in a new and visionary audiovisual production. A journey suspended between digital and archaeological traces, experimental invocations and classical synth, where sound and image intertwine in a flow of memories, nostalgia, light, and imaginary landscapes. The intervention transforms into a Mediterranean technological fable, a psychedelic hallucination that dissolves the boundaries between present and future, psyche and machine, dream and archive. A performance that not only tells a story, but also opens a perceptive gateway: an electronic liturgy that celebrates the evocative power of imagination and its capacity to transform reality.
