Mountain Sound Festival

Tickets

mountain-sound-festival-2026-1

This festival reveals the more underground and rebellious soul of Tones Teatro Natura with its lineup spanning psychedelia, kraut-rock, shoegaze, post-punk, and electronic experimentation. The 2026 edition features two days of Italian and European bands exploring less mainstream rock genres.

Giöbia, Petrolio, Sabbia, and Bienoise will take the stage, along with three bands from Fuzz Club, the London-based label renowned for these sounds: Splitterzelle, The Underground Youth, and Throw Down Bones.

    Saturday 1

From 6:00 PM Tones Teatro Natura

    SABBIA

Born in Biella in 2015 from guitarist Gabriele Serafini’s desire to build an instrumental music project following in the footsteps of the Desert Sessions led by Josh Homme of QOTSA, both in terms of sound and attitude — rooted in creating songs derived exclusively from long jam sessions, drawing out the parts to be used in recording, all captured live. They work mainly in the genres of psychedelic rock and instrumental psych/stoner, with influences from desert rock, krautrock and even psychedelic jazz thanks to the sax. They often describe themselves as a “psycho stoner instrumental” band.

The band comprises Gabriele Serafini, Alessandro Finotello on bass, Andrea Bertoli — formerly vocalist and keyboardist of Lemura — who enriches the project with his keyboards, Marco De Grandi on drums and saxophonist Giacomo Petrocchi.

    GIÖBIA

On the mystical day when 1960s rock met neo-psychedelic rock, merging until it lost all sense of its own essence, the acid rock of Giöbia was born: a sweeping soundtrack with an unmistakably Italian flavour. In a vortex with no way out, the unique melodies of this quartet lead the listener into a world where the boundaries of reality are no longer defined and anything can happen.

In 2025 Giöbia release a brand new album: X-ÆON, on Heavy Psych Sounds, which represents the latest chapter in their evolution and consolidates their position in the European psychedelic rock scene.

    SPLITTERZELLE

Moving away from the hypnotic loop-based space-rock jams of their previous work, the Portuguese/German duo Splitterzelle sees Pedro Pestana and Sidney Jaffe adopt a far more produced approach, driven primarily by Drum Machine and synthesizers. After collaborating on their respective solo projects on the LP and following several tours between Portugal and Germany, Sidney and Pedro soon realised a new band was taking shape, making their collaboration official in 2023 with the formation of Splitterzelle. Starting out as a guitar-and-drums duo, the time spent together — and perhaps also the geographical circumstance of living in different countries — gave them the freedom to explore radically different creative approaches between the 2024 live album The Drumhard Sessions Vol. 1 and the sweeping electronics of the new LP Splitterzelle, released on 17 January 2025 on Fuzz Club.

    UNDERGROUND YOUTH

The group was founded in 2008 as the creative project of Craig Dyer. The band has released 12 albums and 4 EPs, developing over the years a unique sound ranging from cinematic lo-fi psychedelia to a rough, noisy form of post-punk, albeit one that is romantically melancholic. Wrapped in a dark aesthetic and imagery drawn from various art cinema movements, The Underground Youth have built a devoted global following and a cult fan base, constantly fuelled by their intense live activity across Europe, Asia and North America. Signed to independent label Fuzz Club since 2012, The Underground Youth currently consist of Craig Dyer (vocals/guitar), Olya Dyer (drums), Leonard Kaage (guitar) and Samira Zahidi (bass). The band relocated from Manchester to Berlin in 2016. In April 2025 the band released their new album Décollage.

    THROW DOWN BONES

Throw Down Bones is a post-industrial experimental band from Domodossola, based between Milan and London, known for their explosive and hard-hitting blend of krautrock, EBM and noise rock. Their sound is characterised by relentless motorik basslines and abrasive, distorted electronic textures. Throw Down Bones were founded in 2015 by guitarist/keyboardist Francesco Vanni and bassist/percussionist Davide Galli, earning a reputation in the European psych underground scene for their hypnotic live sets. A defining feature of their music was the handcrafted construction of many of their analogue synthesizers and effects pedals, which gave their self-titled debut album a raw and distinctive sonic character. In 2019, founding member Davide “Dave Cocks” Galli tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident. Wishing to continue the band in honour of Cocks, Vanni relocated to New River Studios in London in 2020 and, with new members Marion Andrau (bass) and Raphael Mura (drums), recorded improvisation sessions that would flow into their acclaimed 2023 studio album, Three. In 2025 the album Live At Fuzz Club Festival ‘24 was released, recorded directly from the sound desk by engineer Bob de Wit during their performance at the Fuzz Club festival in Eindhoven. The album was released on sub-label Rubber Duck Recordings (linked to Fuzz Club Records) as a special edition on 180-gram clear vinyl, limited to just 250 hand-numbered copies.

He is the co-author, alongside dancer and choreographer Annamaria Ajmone, of the contemporary dance show TO BE BANNED FROM ROME (2017), whose Main Theme served as the anthem and first release of the C2C Festival’s curatorial label. Since 2018, he has worked closely with the movement research collective Parini Secondo, with whom he has written, among others, SPEEED (2020) and HIT (2024). He also works with Jacopo Jenna on DANSE MACABRE! (2023), HERE AND NOW (2023) and MANIFESTUS (2025).

Intrigued by the technical and speculative limits of artificial intelligence tools, he has published for NERO and NON “L’arte dell’Algoritmo: La Morte \\ Apathetic Algorithms, Artificial Artisans”, a philosophical perspective on the boredom caused by algorithmic products, followed by “The Mbira The Hammer Betrayal” for Ultrablack of Music II, curated by Achim Szepanski; for Seismograf, he produced the audio paper “Whose voice is your voice”, a study of the bias embedded in WhatsApp and Google Meet’s audio compression algorithms. In 2014 he was the Italian artist invited to Tokyo by the Red Bull Music Academy. Since 2019, Radio Raheem Milano has hosted his monthly selection of involuntary compositions in the programme NON MUSICA. He is the co-founder, with Davide Merlino, of the radical improvisation label Floating Forest, based in Verbania. He is a teacher. He is not a DJ.
